The turtle stood out as a powerful symbol of truth, relying on both land and water for its survival. Just as turtles need clean water, Water First is dedicated to working with Indigenous communities to be stewards of this essential resource. In this sense, Water First is the turtle, showcasing the importance of protecting our waters and helping to provide the knowledge needed to do so. With every purchase of this hoodie, wearers are reminded that they are on Indigenous land, and the waters surrounding them carry the legacy of Indigenous peoples. This serves as a marker of the responsibility we all share in caring for the land and water. |
